Three things that still help
- Use a laundry net. It costs little and reliably prevents it from disappearing between the drum and the cuff.
- Place in the wash in pairs. Anyone who throws socks in together will immediately notice if one is missing – and usually find it.
- Look behind the machine. The most common location overall.
